Until about 10 years ago, my husband and I enjoyed pottery making once a month at the home of a ceramic artist who was his friend from school. (For about 8 years in total.)
Shaped using the hand-building technique. Intended as a matcha bowl, I created a chada (tea pooling area) at the bottom.
I drew a grape design, but because the blue glaze was applied thickly, it became slightly muted when fired with a transparent glaze.
Beautiful craquelure has formed on the outside and inside.
▲Due to the hand-building technique, slight distortions and glaze bleeding may be visible.
This is a handmade item by an amateur. Although it is a matcha bowl, I would be happy if you could use it for various purposes, such as for side dishes.
