Zemaitis-type neck for original guitar building
Neck resembling a Zemaitis, quite old, made in a domestic factory.
I was planning to have a body made and create a set neck.
It has been straightened and sanded, but there are dents and veneer cracks.
Medium scale, 24 frets, for set neck construction. Fret slot depth is approximately 2mm, nut width is 42mm, neck thickness at the 1st fret is 22mm, at the 12th fret is 25mm. The neck pocket joint area is angled and measures 29-34mm. There is a stamp that appears to be a serial number.
The neck itself is quarter-sawn mahogany, with a quarter-sawn rosewood fingerboard and what appear to be mother-of-pearl position markers. The truss rod is Gibson type.
Peg holes are 10mm.
The mahogany is well-selected, appearing to be straight-grained quarter-sawn wood with no run-out.
How about using this for original guitar construction?
