Vintage 1960s Mexican Paper Mache Doll Lipstick Holder Case LF Mid Century Folk
N/A
Beautiful authentic 1960s mid-century modern papier-mâché figural lipstick case doll. This piece features a hand-painted blonde lady doll dressed in a teal blue dress with a sculpted rope belt accent, accented by a textured gold joinery band. Origin: Handmade in Mexico during the 1960s folk art boom, heavily inspired by the viral whimsy style of designer Gemma Taccogna. Signature: Hand-signed with the artisan initials LF in black marker on the flat base. Condition & Functionality: The internal metal twist mechanism functions smoothly and rolls up as intended. It still contains remnants of a used vintage red lipstick bullet inside! Cosmetic Notes: As a true vintage item, it shows honest age-appropriate patina. There are some minor paint wear spots, light flaking, and small chips along the lower dress and bottom rim edge (please view all photos closely for details). No deep structural structural cracks or soft spots in the upper papier-mâché head. Perfect addition to an antique vanity collection, mid-century decor display, or a unique gift for a cosmetics history enthusiast.
