2. Scalloped Oil Nut (Gibson Type)

This is a scalloped nut (Gibson type).
The material is unbleached cow bone, soaked in oil since March 2025.
It is soaked in oil again after processing.
String spacing is approximately 7mm.

This is the famous scalloped nut found on original Zemaitis guitars made during the era when Zemaitis himself was crafting them, as well as on GLAY's HISASHI signature models.
Even if you don't own a signature Zemaitis, replacing your current nut with this one can bring the look and sound closer to the original.
For Gibson users with Les Pauls, SGs, etc., this unbleached version will blend better visually, and the scalloped effect can enhance the separation of notes.

It can be replaced on most standard Gibson and Zemaitis guitars without significant modification.
While the HISASHI signature model has a nut width of 42mm, most other models are 43mm, so this one is recommended.
When installing on a Zemaitis, the nut is easily removed, so replacing it or returning to the original nut should not be difficult.
