Vintage 1950s Pyrex 516 Glass Measuring Cup 2 Cup Closed D-Handle USA Logo
Pyrex (Corning Glass Works)
This exceptional piece of American kitchen history is an early 1950s vintage Pyrex 2-cup liquid measuring cup, model number 516. This mid-century model features the highly collectible, thick glass closed D-handle design with a raised thumb grip at the top for balanced pouring. The underside of the base features the authentic, early Corning Glass Works stamp layout with the words Trade Mark arched above the Pyrex logo, and Made in USA arranged in a curved circle underneath, dating this exact piece between 1950 and 1953. Crafted from heavy, durable borosilicate glass, this true vintage piece offers superior thermal shock resistance compared to modern measuring cups. In keeping with its early 1950s production, the side walls display standard US measurements for ounces, cups, and fractions of a pint with no metric markings. The capitalized Pyrex branding is printed directly alongside the graduation lines, below a perfectly molded pouring spout. This measuring cup is in excellent vintage condition. The heavy-duty glass remains beautifully clear and free of any chips, cracks, flea bites, or cloudiness. The integrated handle and pouring spout are fully intact, and the red graduation markings remain bright and highly legible. It serves as a fantastic, highly reliable daily utility tool for baking, a great addition to a retro display, or a wonderful find for a serious vintage Pyrex collector. ----------------------------------------
