Description
Touzan Pottery Hagi Ware Sencha Tea Set - Kyusu, Yusamashi, 5 Sencha Cups
Tea Ceremony Set
This lovely tea set features a simple, rustic design with a soft texture and understated decoration.
The gradual change in appearance as tea stains seep into the crazing (fine cracks on the surface) over time is known as Hagi no Nanabake (Seven Transformations of Hagi), and is another aspect to be enjoyed.
Because it is fired at low temperatures in a climbing kiln, the clay is not tightly fired, making this tea set excellent for retaining heat and absorbing moisture.
Size:
Kyusu (Teapot): Approx. 8cm diameter x 6.4cm height
Yusamashi (Cooling Pitcher): Approx. 10cm x 6.5cm x 4.5cm height
Sencha Cups: 5.2cm diameter x 5cm height (approximate)
