Antique 1920s-30s Child Pinafore Apron-Hand Sewn-White-Pink-Girls-2T-3T-Heirloom

Antique ca. 1920s–30s little girl's pin-on pinafore apron, likely American made. Fashioned in lightweight white woven cotton with a delicate geometric pattern, pink-bound scalloped edges and extensive hand stitching. This early style was designed to pin over a child's day dress, serving as a washable protective layer while adding a decorative finish. The name “pinafore” derives from the early practice of pinning an apron “afore,” or to the front of, a dress.   Approx. size 2T–4T; 23½ overall length, 32½ skirt length along flare, 18 partially across waist as shown, with strings it is approximately 25.25 inches.   Listing is for pinafore only; pins and pink dress are not included.   Condition: Antique with several small holes and a few small age spots; otherwise presents beautifully for its age.
