Vintage Artisan Collector Bead Necklace Handblown Glass Wood Clay Carved Bird Ex

This is a one-of-a-kind vintage artisan “collector bead” or assemblage necklace, probably made during the 1970s–1980s from an eclectic collection of older and contemporary beads.  The extra-long, continuous strand incorporates:  * Handblown/lampwork glass beads in varied colors and shapes * Tiny multicolored glass seed beads * Hand-carved wooden beads * Glazed ceramic or clay beads * A charming hand-carved bird bead * A pierced, carved nut or fruit-pit bead, possibly Chinese * Molded floral, leaf and novelty beads * Frosted and irregular artisan glass * No visible clasp, signature or maker’s mark  The irregular arrangement and individually selected beads give it a genuine studio-art or “wearable art” character. It does not appear mass-produced. Some components may be older than the completed necklace, which was likely assembled from collected beads.
