Found this while cleaning out my in-laws' house.
The tip of the blue oni's horn is chipped, but I think it won't be noticeable if you color it in with a green marker.
I'm listing this in hopes that it can be used by families with young children for their bean-throwing ceremony (mamemaki) in February.
Even for younger children, I don't want anyone below kindergarten age to be scared. I think it would be fun and engaging for kindergarteners and up, as they can participate in the event and enjoy the act of throwing beans.
If there are older elementary school boys around, you could hang it from the ceiling and, rather than just throwing beans, use it as a target. They might enjoy a game of seeing how many beans they can hit from a certain distance, or even get hooked on it!
It's important to create lasting memories and foster an appreciation for Japan's rich traditional events and culture from a young age.
