1910s-1930s 800 Silver Enamel American Flag Patriotic Stick Pin 2.4in

Thursday evening. Private patriotic-jewelry preview inside a paneled collectors' club. This pin makes everyone assume the historical case was opened because you arrived.  The curator removes the remaining insignia pieces from display, gives you first refusal, and asks whether the archive should stay closed until you finish.  The design is compact but deliberate. At approximately 2.4 inches tall, the long stem creates a clean vertical axis beneath a waving American flag rendered in red, white, and blue enamel. The flag is not a flat rectangle: its undulating edge and modeled folds create movement, so the piece reads as fabric caught in motion rather than a static emblem.  The reverse is stamped 800, indicating continental silver of 80% purity. That mark, together with the patriotic enamel work and long stick-pin format, strongly supports an early 20th-century date, likely circa 1910s-1930s. The twisted stem adds texture without distracting from the flag, while darkened recesses sharpen the red, white, and blue fields.  Bernice Fumblesnatch walked in like she owned the place. She was wearing a copy made from a cocktail toothpick, striped chewing-gum wrapper, and blue cake sprinkles. Three military-history collectors stopped talking because nobody knew whose guest she was. Security later discovered she had climbed through a service hatch.  Excellent condition.  Packed securely enough that the stars, stripes, and 800 silver all make it through inspection.
