VINTAGE Giovanni "One Rose" Gold-Tone Brooch 1960s

**smoke free home and owner**  This is the Giovanni One Rose brooch which is one of the most recognizable and successful designs in 1960s American costume jewelry history.  Giovanni specifically targeted women wanting an elegant, everyday floral accent for structured wool suits, heavy lapels, and trench coats common in mid-century fashion.  **The tops of the leaves and the outer petals feature a matte cross-hatched brush-textured effect to mimic natural textures **The quality of the plating process for Giovanni pieces is popular because they are famous for resisting green tarnish.   This piece does have two places of green tarnish on the back of the leaf where the rose is signed Giovanni. (see picture for details)  **The details on the rose petals and the leaves are amazing. Smooth veins on the flower and a smooth stem really catch the light.  The rose measures 3 inches in length and is 1.5 inches across the leaves.
