Vintage Signed Hattie Carnegie Cicada Locust Bug Brooch Gold Tone Insect Pin

Elegant gold-tone cicada / locust brooch with sparkling clear crystals and green crystal rhinestone eyes.   The highly collectible mid-century costume jewelry classic created by the famous American designer Hattie Carnegie. It is crafted from textured gilt gold-tone metal with pave rhinestone accents on the head and colored rhinestones for eyes.   Measures approx. 2” in length by 1” in width.   Signed Hattie Carnegie on the back of the brooch.    In excellent preowned condition, the gold is rich and there is no signs of wear. The pin is strong and straight, the crystals are all accounted for. The only “flaw” is that this was originally a trembler brooch, with wings that moved at the top. They were missing so I added the clear Swarovski crystals to the back where the wings came out.   Adds a touch of glamour to jackets, scarves, or bags.
