Antique Noh Mask Komai (Young Woman) - Set of 2 (Large and Small) - Ceramic - Fine Art - Vintage

Thank you for looking.

This is a beautiful vintage set of two traditional Japanese Noh masks, one large and one small, made of ceramic.

- Type: Noh mask, Ko-omote (small face)
- Size: Set of 2 (large and small)
- Material: Ceramic, Paulownia wood board

These masks were found while clearing out my family home. My grandfather loved antique art and collected beautiful pieces. I believe these masks, with their striking faces, are a wonderful vintage find.

The male mask has writing in brushstrokes on the lower left of the paulownia wood board, possibly the artist's name or something similar, but I cannot read it. The paulownia board has a string for hanging on the wall, and the mask is tied to the board with strings on both sides. However, one of the strings is broken.
The female mask does not come with a paulownia board (nor are there holes on the sides of the mask for attachment).
Please consider adding this piece to your collection.

Noh mask dimensions:
Male mask: Approx. 7.0 cm (width) x 9.5 cm (height)
Female mask: Approx. 5.0 cm (width) x 8.0 cm (height)
Paulownia board dimensions: Approx. 11.6 cm (width) x 22.2 cm (height)
