The stance in sports is built and shaped through the process of growth and development in that sport to achieve victory.
A rationalized stance becomes the starting point for everything; conversely, neglecting it will cause everything to fall apart. The series of movements that begin with the stance is arguably the most important for basketball players.

This DVD meticulously explains how to perform the stance in offense and defense, and how to turn around after receiving the ball.
Instruction and commentary are provided by Tsuneyasu Suzuta, former Unichika manager and former national team coach. He is currently active as a temporary coach for various schools, primarily in western Japan.

Baseball players don't swing the bat more than 10 times per game, yet they practice swinging 1,000 times a day. What about basketball players? They handle the ball more than 48 times per game, but they don't practice the correct movements for those instances very much, says Mr. Suzuta. He emphasizes the importance of mastering the correct methods for stance, turning around, and stepping, and repeating them.

The DVD also touches on fine points such as wrist usage and foot orientation, and introduces numerous drills for learning movements. This work is truly the essence of fundamentals. Please use it as the foundation of coaching.
