This is a listing for a ceremonial sword from the former Imperial Japanese Navy. It is an authentic item from that era.

As shown in the photos, the ceremonial sword itself and a metal sword knot are included.
There are no detached parts and no missing components.
There is no looseness in the parts, and the lock functions normally.

While the condition can generally be confirmed through the photos, if you'd like my subjective opinion, I've described the condition below.

《Ceremonial Sword Body》
The scabbard is made of cowhide, and the hilt is made of sharkskin.
The sharkskin, in particular, has large grains with no missing pieces, making it very visually appealing.
As you can see in the photos, the cowhide scabbard has some signs of wear.
Therefore, to prevent further damage and maintain its condition, I have performed minimal maintenance with a dry cloth.
Thanks to this, the scabbard has a luxurious sheen.
If you wish, I can apply leather care oil for moisturizing and then dry-wipe it before shipping. (It is colorless and will not detract from its appearance.)

The blade has some plating peeling in places, revealing the base metal. (See photos for condition.)

《Sword Knot》
This is a solidly constructed sword knot woven with metallic thread.
There are some minor frays due to age.

Overall, while I wouldn't say the condition is perfect, I don't believe it's in particularly bad shape.
The metal exterior parts, in particular, are very clean with no rust.

As a side note, the sword knot is tied as shown in the photos for aesthetic purposes, and it's tied in a style inspired by German dagger sword knots.
It's not a complex knot and can be easily untied.
