Aomori Tsugaru Lacquerware: A Radiance That Stops Time - A Supreme 20mm Netsuke Bead Woven from Natural Mother-of-Pearl and Lacquer

A brilliance that stops time. A supreme 20mm netsuke bead woven from natural mother-of-pearl and lacquer.

[Body]

Raden (mother-of-pearl inlay) is a technique that has been loved by nobles and samurai since ancient times. This netsuke reinterprets that tradition with a modern sensibility.

This netsuke is like a jewel that condenses a kaleidoscope into fingertip size.
Every time you turn it, you see a new scene, and you never get tired of it.

The small sphere, about 20mm in size, is filled with the crystallization that the craftsman has repeated through coating, drying, and polishing over several months.

The sparkle of natural shells peeking through layers of purple, blue, silver, and black lacquer is like gazing into the deep sea or a distant galaxy.

Not only as a netsuke for kimonos and yukatas, but nowadays, more people are using it as a keychain, pendant top, or even as a charm to relieve stress.

Please have your own small work of art in your hands, which changes its expression every time you pick it up.
