A beautiful bolt of fabric made from high-quality Hama Chirimen silk, dyed with fine stencil patterns on a light purple background.
This fabric can be tailored into unlined kimonos, lined kimonos, or haori (kimono jackets).
It is a stored item, but appears to be in good condition with no major flaws.
(There is some yellowing around the area marked Yuzen, but this part will be cut off during tailoring and will not affect the finished kimono.)
It comes with a tag indicating a price of ¥225,000!
Sekidashi Yuzen (せきだしゆうぜん) is a type of hand-painted Yuzen dyeing. It is a technique where the outlines of the pattern are resist-dyed with paste or wax, eliminating the need for white outlines (ito-me) and creating sharp boundaries between colors and the base fabric. Because outlines are not drawn, this technique allows for the expression of powerful, realistic three-dimensionality in depictions of living things and plants, as well as beautiful gradations.
