US Military 40s Amekaji Shoulder Bag Musette Bag - Genuine

This is a U.S. Army M-1936 Musette Bag.

Features U.S. stencil.

Color: Olive Drab

Material: Cotton Canvas

The metal fittings have some rust, but there are no holes, and considering its age, it is in good condition. The stencil is dark and the inside shows little signs of use and is clean (Photos 10 & 11).
The strap is also from 1943, matching the bag's era.

This is the bag that appeared in the 1940s American film 12 O'Clock High, starring Gregory Peck.

It was also seen in the movie Saving Private Ryan, where a tough sergeant casually placed a can filled with Normandy sand into it. That's the bag!

While it can be used as a shoulder bag, it can also be attached to the D-rings of suspenders using the two straps on the back, allowing it to be used as a backpack.
It has side pockets with button closures under flaps.
