Tea Ceremony Utensil: Hanaikada Kogo (Incense Container)
● Tsuji Sekisai
Founded in 1840 as a wood turner near the Kido Gate of Yamanaka Onsen.
Since then, the business transitioned from wood turning to lacquering, and has been passed down through generations, specializing in the production of Yamanaka lacquerware, primarily tea ceremony utensils, under the guidance of the heads of tea ceremony schools.
During the era of the second Sekisai, they had interactions with Rosanjin Kitaoji, leading to the supervision of the Rosanjin Bento, which features Kaga cuisine and Yamanaka lacquerware.
Currently, the fifth generation is building a new world while inheriting the tradition.
