Description
Decluttering my home.
This is an incense container with mother-of-pearl inlay, dating back to the Muromachi period.
It's about 10cm in diameter and has a considerable presence.
To be honest, I have no knowledge of mother-of-pearl inlay or lacquerware, but I found this item appealing and have owned it for a long time.
When light hits it, the dazzling sparkle of the mother-of-pearl is truly captivating. The craftsmanship seems quite elaborate. Furthermore, the placement of the chrysanthemum pattern is exquisite, with a good balance and overflowing with ancient dignity.
As it is a very old lacquered item, there are signs of lacquer peeling, mother-of-pearl loss, and scratches. There are also symptoms resembling liquid leakage on the bottom. However, the main body itself is not fragile and is in a condition that can withstand practical use.
Diameter approximately 10cm, height approximately 4cm.
Price is negotiable, so please feel free to inquire.
Thank you.
