Design Concept: Joy spreading from a better world
・Sakura (Cherry Blossoms)
The cherry blossom, a flower symbolizing Japanese culture, represents people gathering and feeling joy. The most popular Somei Yoshino variety originated in Tokyo and was spread throughout the country by people, thus cherry blossoms are used in the design as a symbol of spreading joy.
・En (Circle)
The brush calligraphy character En represents Japaneseness, and the outer and inner circles are formed by the calligraphy of Wa (harmony). Drawing the circle in triple lines expresses the way joy-filled places ripple outwards.
Brush Calligraphy by Calligrapher Bisen Aoyagi
The brush calligraphy on the ball and its dedicated gift box was created by the emerging calligrapher Bisen Aoyagi.
