● This official game ball is based on the BG5000 used in international tournaments hosted by FIBA (International Basketball Federation), and features Sakura, a flower symbolizing Japanese culture, and the characters 円 (En - circle) and 和 (Wa - harmony) written in brush calligraphy by the up-and-coming calligrapher Misen Aoyagi. It expresses molten's vision of Joy spreading from a better world.
● Design Concept: Joy spreading from a better world
・ Sakura (SAKURA): The Sakura, a flower symbolizing Japanese culture, represents people gathering and feeling joy. The most popular Somei Yoshino cherry blossom originated in Tokyo and was spread throughout the country by people, so cherry blossoms are also used in the design as a symbol of spreading joy.
・ Circle (CIRCLE): The brush calligraphy 円 represents Japaneseness, and the outer and inner circles are formed by the calligraphy 和. By drawing the circle in three layers, it expresses the way joy-filled places spread like ripples.
● Brush calligraphy by calligrapher Misen Aoyagi: The brush calligraphy on the ball and its special gift box was created by the up-and-coming calligrapher Misen Aoyagi. She has performed calligraphy at various cultural and sports events around the world.
● Improved control performance
・ Reduced slippage due to sweat: The surface of the ball has been treated differently from our previous products to reduce slippage even with sweaty hands.
