The following is quoted:
◆What is Ise Shunkei? Ise Shunkei is a type of Shunkei-nuri finished by utilizing the grain of cypress wood, applying red coloring (such as bengara or persimmon tannin), and then coating it with transparent lacquer. It is said to have originated from the use of leftover materials from the rebuilding of the Ise Grand Shrine, and is characterized by its simple and practical beauty.

◆Names of People and Wholesalers These are the names of prominent lacquerware merchants and craftsmen from Ise (formerly Yamada City) who were active from the Meiji to Showa periods. Futami Mitsunosuke: Known as a trade name or owner's name of a lacquerware wholesaler. Marks such as Domestic Lacquerware Wholesaler Futami Mitsunosuke are often stamped on the bottom of tiered bento boxes, trays, etc., and are frequently seen in the antique market. Wada Kyugoro: Also a prominent figure (or store name) involved in the manufacturing and sale of Ise lacquerware.
