【Beautiful Condition】Kamakura-bori (Kamakura Carving) Fish Sculpture Ornament

This is a Kamakura-bori traditional Japanese craft, featuring a wall hanging or tray with two carp swimming gracefully, intricately depicted.
Kamakura-bori is a technique that involves meticulously carving wood and then applying multiple layers of lacquer, with a history of approximately 800 years.

Features of this piece:
Traditional Craftsmanship: Using wood such as Katsura, skilled artisans carefully hand-carve each scale and fin of the carp.
Unique Texture: The deep reddish-brown color created by layering lacquer and the rich luster that deepens with age are characteristic.
Auspicious Design: In Japan, carp are revered as symbols of strength and perseverance, and due to the legend of the Dragon Gate, they are also considered auspicious for success and advancement in life.
