Vintage Kreiss 6.5" Blue Art Glass Vase w/ Ruffled Hand Blown Japan‎

Kreiss & Company was a prominent American importer and distributor of decorative ceramics and glassware from the 1940s through the 1970s, with much of their production sourced from Japan. The company became known for high-quality handblown art glass featuring vibrant colors and organic forms, particularly their 'swung' vases with ruffled or crimped rims. These pieces were crafted by skilled Japanese artisans using traditional glassblowing techniques, with cobalt oxide added to create the distinctive deep blue color. The flowing, asymmetrical forms reflected the mid-century modern aesthetic that dominated American home decor during this period. Kreiss glassware appeals to collectors of mid-century decorative arts, vintage Japanese export glass enthusiasts, and interior designers seeking authentic period pieces. The bold cobalt blue color and handcrafted quality make these vases highly desirable for adding visual drama to both contemporary and retro-inspired interiors. Collectors particularly value Kreiss pieces for their consistent quality and the company's reputation for importing superior Japanese craftsmanship during the golden age of export glassware.
