【Retro Antique】Yakumo Lacquerware Suzuribako (Inkstone Box) / Fumibako (Document Box) - NHK Commemorative Item - Peony & Cherry Blossom Lacquerware

【Product Condition】
This is a long-term stored item discovered in an old traditional Japanese house's tansu (chest of drawers).
We are unsure how this Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) item came to be safely stored, but it was kept alongside calligraphy supplies.
The design from that era is now incredibly retro and captivating.
It possesses a characteristic moist luster unique to lacquerware and maintains a beautiful overall condition.
No significant scratches are apparent, but please excuse minor scuffs and surface clouding due to storage.

*Please check the photos for the condition.

【Recommended Points】
This is a writing box made with Yakumo-nuri, a traditional craft from Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture.
Vibrant peonies and cherry blossoms are depicted using traditional techniques that have continued since the early Meiji period. The greatest characteristic of Yakumo-nuri is that the transparency of the lacquer increases with age, making the inner design appear more vivid.
It has dividers inside, making it useful not only for calligraphy tools but also for storing care items, important letters, stationery, accessories, and other small items. This is a rare commemorative item with Japan Broadcasting Corporation inscribed in gold lettering.
