Antique 1870s-1880s Alex Lozo Cabinet Card Photos Pair St Joseph Missouri Victor

Wonderful matched pair of original 19th-century cabinet card photographs by noted St. Joseph, Missouri photographer Alex Lozo. Includes two Victorian-era studio portraits: one gentleman with a full beard and one woman wearing a long dark period dress. Both portraits feature the same distinctive ornate staircase/railing studio setting and both have the matching large script “Lozo – St. Joseph, Mo.” photographer mark on the reverse. Alexander “Alex” Lozo operated a photography studio in St. Joseph, Missouri during the 1870s and 1880s, dating these photographs to approximately that period. The subjects are unidentified. Because the two photographs came together, share the same photographer and studio setting, they may have had a family connection, but no relationship between the subjects is being claimed. Measurements: Approximately 4 1/4 x 6 1/2 each, standard cabinet-card size. Condition: Original antique condition with expected age-related toning, fading, surface wear and wear to the edges/corners of the mounts. The lighter card has a small area of edge loss/wear near the lower right corner. The dark-mounted gentleman's portrait retains strong contrast for its age. Photographer markings remain visible on the backs. Please review all photographs closely for exact condition. A particularly attractive matched pair for collectors of antique photography, Victorian portraits, Missouri history, St. Joseph memorabilia, genealogy, cabinet cards or 19th-century Americana. Sold
