This is a vintage hand-painted wooden sitting cat figurine by folk artist C Grif

Handmade wooden folk art objects gained immense popularity across North America during the late 20th century crafts revival movement. Artisan woodworkers often utilized scrap pine or salvaged lumber to create whimsical animal figurines that appealed to collectors of country decor. Craftsmen like C Griffith typically sold these hand-painted pieces through local art fairs, craft bazaars, and specialty gift shops during the 1980s and 1990s. Each piece was individually cut, sanded, and hand-painted, ensuring that no two decorative cat figures were ever completely identical.
