US Military Surplus
Case for night goggles used by pilots and gunners in the USAAF (US Army Air Forces) during World War II in the 1940s.
This is for the case only, designed for goggles with red lenses that facilitate dark adaptation.
Manufactured by ROMCO, the same maker as the issued eyeglass frames also listed separately.
Formed from thin tin plate, with ROCHESTER OPTICAL MFG CO/ROCHESTER N.Y. U.S.A. embossed on the front.
Considering its age, there are paint scuffs and slight rust on the inside, but no noticeable distortions, and it opens and closes without issue.
It may be possible to store smaller eyeglass frames inside.
