Pyramid flatwound strings are one of the most recommended choices for reproducing the sound of George Harrison's Rickenbacker 360/12 (Fireglo), particularly that distinctive jangly 12-string tone he used around 1964.
Authenticity of the Era: Pyramid is a long-established string manufacturer in Germany, and it is highly likely that their strings were used as factory strings for Rickenbacker guitars in the 1960s.
Importance of Flatwound: To achieve the sound of the 1960s, flatwound strings like Pyramid's are considered optimal for reproducing that sound of the era, compared to roundwound strings.
Features: There are opinions that these strings offer a very matching tone and are suitable for expressing the unique tension and tone characteristic of Rickenbacker guitars.
Currently, among fans who own Rickenbacker 12-string guitars, choosing Pyramid strings is a standard option when aiming for the Beatles' sound of that period.
