This is a beautiful set of 5 guinomi (sake cups) made with Kiso lacquerware (Shiotori Urushi Koge), a traditional craft of Shinshu.
The exterior features a deep, glossy black lacquer with delicate gold maki-e (gold powder sprinkled on lacquer) depicting scattering cherry blossoms. The interior is a vibrant vermilion lacquer, creating a very elegant atmosphere as if the cherry blossoms float when sake is poured.
This is a special item created as a Commemorative Award and has a commemorative inscription on the bottom. (See image 7)
