Lacquer Art Vase

The delicate expressions woven by the beautiful lacquer of Wajima-nuri fill the user's heart, representing the pinnacle of Japanese craftsmanship.

[What is Wajima-nuri?]

A representative traditional Japanese lacquerware craft passed down mainly in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Among lacquer cultures with over a thousand years of history, it is particularly characterized by its exquisite and highly durable techniques.

Craftsmen repeatedly apply carefully selected lacquer, drying and polishing to create a deep luster and robust texture. Furthermore, by employing decorative techniques such as Maki-e (gold lacquer) and Chinkin (engraved gold lacquer), each piece gains value as a work of art.

The charm of Wajima-nuri lies not only in its beauty but also in its unchanging brilliance even with daily use. You can feel the breath of the artisan the moment you hold it.
Truly, a pinnacle of Japanese traditional crafts that gains more flavor with use.
Traditional Wajima-nuri lacquerware is designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property.
This is a top-quality lacquerware that can be used for generations.
