[About Wajima-nuri]

A representative traditional Japanese craft of lacquerware, passed down mainly in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Among lacquer cultures with over a thousand years of history, it is particularly characterized by its exquisite and highly durable techniques.

Craftsmen repeatedly apply and dry carefully selected lacquer, polishing between layers to create a deep luster and robust texture. Furthermore, by employing decorative techniques such as *maki-e* (gold lacquer sprinkled on) and *chinkin* (gold inlay carved into lacquer), each piece gains value as a work of art.

The charm of Wajima-nuri lies not only in its beauty but also in its ability to maintain its brilliance even with daily use. You can feel the breath of the artisan the moment you hold it.
It is truly a pinnacle of Japanese traditional crafts that gains more character with use.
Traditional Wajima-nuri is designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property.
This is a top-quality lacquerware that can be used for generations.
