This rare Japan-made painted-hair variant was part of Mattels Wig Wardrobe lineoriginally sold with three interchangeable wigs (not included). She features the distinctive 1963 sculpt with soft blue eyes, coral lips, and a molded brunette hair cap designed for the interchangeable wigs. Her gown, Golden Elegance, was released the same year and remains one of Barbies most elegant 1960s fashions. Together, this doll and dress capture the glamour and craftsmanship of early Barbie historyperfect for collectors seeking an authentic, display-ready vintage ensemble.  Condition Description Pre-owned, authentic 1963 Mattel Barbie/Midge Wig Wardrobe doll and vintage tagged Golden Elegance dress.Doll shows expected cosmetic wear from age and play. Painted brunette hair is intact with light surface rubs. Facial paint remains vivid with defined eyeliner and coral lips; minor green ear marks from vintage earrings. Body is clean and sturdy with no major splits or cracks. Dress is original Mattel Golden Elegance #961 (1963)  metallic gold lamé bodice, ivory tulle overskirt, satin waistband, and intact Barbie® by Mattel tag.
