Vintage 1980 TI Speak & Math Texas Instruments Working Original Box Math Talk

Vintage 1980 Texas Instruments Speak & Math – Tested & Working – Original Box & Math Talk Activity Book  Original 1980 Texas Instruments Speak & Math electronic learning aid, part of TI's now-iconic family of talking educational toys that began with Speak & Spell.  Introduced in 1980, Speak & Math used Texas Instruments' synthesized speech technology to combine spoken instructions with a vacuum fluorescent display and interactive math games. It was designed for grades 1–6 and offered several activities including Solve It, Word Problems, Greater Than/Less Than, Write It and Number Stumper.  This example is tested and working.  Includes the pieces shown:   * Original Texas Instruments Speak & Math unit  * Original retail box  * Original Math Talk 32-page activity book  * Texas Instruments paperwork shown  Operates on 4 C-cell batteries (not included). The original design could also operate from a compatible 6V DC adapter, which is not included with this set.  The Speak & Math itself is in good vintage preowned condition with expected cosmetic wear, including light marks, scuffs and age-related discoloration. Please examine photos closely for exact condition.  The original box shows considerable age and storage wear, including creasing, edge/corner wear, discoloration, surface wear and other deterioration as photographed. The Math Talk activity book also shows age/use wear. These original materials are included as part of the set and have not been represented as mint.
