Purpose: Made in the 1970s for early Amana microwave ovens, the special coated bottom absorbs microwave energy to preheat and sear or brown foods. Design: Features white pyroceram body, small built-in feet on the base, and a blue colonial house/scenery graphic. Usage Note: The browning base gets extremely hot when preheated empty in a microwave, but these vintage pieces are not meant for conventional stovetops or standard oven heating.
