Vintage‎ PYREX 6283 Flameware Inner Pot Glass Double Boiler W/ Lid 1.5 Quart

The PYREX 6283 Flameware Double Boiler is a vintage 1.5-quart borosilicate glass cookware set produced by Corning Glass Works in the mid-20th century. It consists of an outer saucepan, an upper inner pot (often labeled 6283-U), a metal handle band, and a glass lid. Product Specifications & Details  * Capacity: 1.5 Quarts  * Material: Heat-resistant borosilicate/aluminosilicate glass (flameware)  * Components: Outer base pot, inner insert pot, matching glass lid (6283-C), and a stainless steel handle band.  * Era: Manufactured primarily between the late 1930s and the 1950s.      Usage & Care Considerations  * Stovetop Compatibility: Safe for gas and electric coil or glass-top stoves. However, on coil or solid-disc electric ranges, using a heat diffuser is highly recommended to prevent direct impact and localized thermal stress.  * Thermal Shock: Flameware is sensitive to sudden temperature changes. Never place a hot glass pot on a cold, damp surface or add ice-cold ingredients to a heated pot.   It measures about 5 3/4 wide at the top x 7 3/4 high (top and bottom and lid) together.
