Vintage East Tennessee Community Cookbook Greeneville TN Local Recipes Rare

Title: Itchin' for Somethin' In The Kitchen Date: Undated Research note included. Research indicates Ivy Cottage was a residential cottage at Greene Valley Developmental Center in Greeneville, Tennessee, a state-operated facility serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Greene Valley operated for more than 50 years before closing in 2017. The cookbook itself does not identify a location, publication date, or publisher. Its connection to Ivy Cottage and Greene Valley was established through outside historical research and matching contributor information. This appears to be a locally produced cookbook containing recipes contributed by residents and staff. It is an unusual piece of East Tennessee community and institutional history in addition to being a vintage-style community recipe collection. A separate printed research note documenting the historical context will be included with the cookbook. The research sheet is not original to the publication. An uncommon find for collectors of Tennessee cookbooks, community cookbooks, local history, institutional history, and privately produced recipe books. • All sales are final — please review photos and details before purchasing.
