Lovely late-Victorian ice water pitcher  Maker: Circular incuse mark @bottom: ROCHESTER STAMPING WORKS ROCHESTER, N.Y.   The Co. EST. 1888 manufacture strictly 1st class sheet metal goods, pitcher is a classic example of their ornate hollowware  Details:  •  Tall baluster form, beaded borders rim & foot •  Domed hinged lid, fluted top & acorn finial •  Ornate cast handle, thumb rest & lower scroll •  Hinged spout flap, original pierced ice strainer, ice guard inside spout •  Silver plated over copper, white metal base, not sterling   Dimensions:  - 10  base - tall to top - 8 spout - end of handle  - 5.5 base diameter - Weighs aprx 1.5 lbs.  Condition: Good antique w/ age-appropriate wear, Surface shows light scratches, buffing marks from 100+ years of polishing Interior shows tarnish, some darkening /green verdigris -bottom seam typical of silver plate over copper - see photos. No major dents. (Blemishes noted on images) Both hinges work - lid opens/closes tightly, spout flap moves freely. Worn plate at high points but no holes.
