Vintage Santo Domingo Kewa Pueblo Style Mosaic Shell & Heishi Bead Necklace Beautiful vintage necklace featuring a striking mosaic-inlaid shell pendant with turquoise, dark jet/onyx-style and light shell inlay arranged in a geometric pattern. The pendant has a scalloped natural shell/spiny-oyster-style lower section and is suspended from a long strand of shell heishi beads accented with larger dark and light beads. The overall construction and materials are characteristic of Santo Domingo (Kewa Pueblo) style Native American jewelry, particularly the use of shell heishi and mosaic inlay. The back of the shell pendant is hand-marked 555. I have not been able to verify this as a specific artist hallmark, so it is included as a photographed identifying mark rather than attributed to a particular maker.
