Beautiful vintage English butterfly wing pendant featuring a hand-painted lady in a white dress surrounded by two birds, set over shimmering blue butterfly wing. The iridescent wing creates a gorgeous changing blue background as the pendant catches the light. The reverse is stamped ENGLAND / STERLING with a maker’s mark. The sterling silver has developed a beautiful dark natural patina that gives the piece wonderful antique character. Please note: a small section of the original butterfly wing has been lost/damaged with age, visible in the photos. It does not detract significantly from the overall scene, which remains exceptionally beautiful and vibrant. A lovely surviving example of vintage English butterfly wing jewelry and a very unusual collectible piece. Pendant only; chain not included.
