In recent years, the outdoor wear and active insulation categories have expanded rapidly. Primarily, overseas brands have been leading product development in this area. TEIJIN Octa®CPCP® is one of the insulation materials used in active insulation, known for its lightweight and high heat retention.

At STATIC, we chose to use Octa®CPCP®, which is typically used as a lining material for insulated products, as a single layer. This is because products developed by brands in high-altitude, dry climates often combine Octa®CPCP® with nylon shell materials, making them heavy. We considered that in Japan, where items are often carried as insulation layers, such heavy garments would be difficult to layer effectively.

Due to its special mesh structure, this material is overwhelmingly lighter than typical fleece fabrics weighing around 300g, offering exceptionally high heat retention relative to its weight and excellent portability, making it suitable for all seasons.
