Kawaii Kanjiro Green Glaze Leaf-Shaped 7-Inch Plate - For Early Summer's Shining Leaves
118.80 $
Description
Born in 1890 (Meiji 23), Kanjiro co-founded the Mingei movement in 1926 with Yanagi, Hamada, and Tomimoto Kenkichi, pursuing the beauty of everyday tableware. Subsequently, in 1929, he held an exhibition on The Beauty of Everyday Mingei at Takashimaya, which garnered significant attention. Around this time, he also stopped signing his works, aiming to leave behind better pieces rather than his name. This is an outstanding work that seems to embody the beauty of everyday life in Mingei.
