Antique Belgian Bruges Lace, Linen-Colored Bobbin Lace, Floral Doily

Belgian Antique/Vintage Piece
Handmade round doily lace, approximately 14.5 cm in size, crafted using traditional bobbin lace and needlework techniques that the ancient city of Bruges has proudly passed down through generations.

The inner section features tightly woven rows of cord-like lace, creating a dense, two or three-row pattern. It evokes the cool, refreshing imagery of a temari ball or fireworks.

The outer trim has 12 petals. The bobbin lace with openwork between the petals is elegant. The outer edge is finished with a picot lace of small loops.

The color is an ecru, natural beige, reminiscent of raw linen. It has a gentle, serene atmosphere, with a subtle hint of green, perhaps like grass.

The material is linen, with a natural, subtle sheen and luster. The airy, openwork lace design is refreshing, and the texture is smooth, supple, and flowing.

This item has been home-cleaned and ironed, ensuring it is clean and ready for immediate use.

You may notice thread knots or finishing stitches in a few places (as shown in the top-left of the final image). However, these are meticulously done and are as beautiful from the reverse side as they are from the front, making it difficult to distinguish which is the front or back.

This doily will enhance and add a subtle, elegant, and decorative touch when placed under antique objects, small antique bisque dolls, teddy bears, vases, or cherished photographs. Its versatile nature and compact size make it a practical addition to any small space.
