Royal Doulton Glamis Thistle Cup and Saucer 2 Sets Demitasse Espresso Vintage Each demitasse cup measures approximately 2 inches tall as shown in the photos. Excellent condition. No chips, no cracks, no crazing. Royal Doulton Glamis Thistle (Pattern H4601) is a highly collectible vintage fine bone china pattern produced in England from 1937 to 1961. This iconic pattern features delicate purple thistles, vibrant green leaves, and an elegant gold trim on a crisp white porcelain. The pattern was inspired by the wild Scottish thistles growing near Glamis Castle, which was the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. The original artwork was hand painted by celebrated Royal Doulton artist Percy Curnock. This collection made history as the very first artist-signed bone china design that was mass-produced by Royal Doulton. Each piece features Curnock's facsimile signature (often printed as P. Curnock) integrated directly into the transferware floral design.
