Description
Two 1847 Roger’s Bros XS Triple Silver Plated Old Colony spoons. These spoons are in the Old Colony pattern, which was introduced in 1911 by 1847 Rogers Bros., a division of the International Silver Company. This silverplate pattern, featuring a distinctive wreath of flowers and a pierced diamond design at the tip of the handle, was a popular Art Nouveau-inspired design produced until 1973. Pattern Details Maker: 1847 Rogers Bros. (International Silver Co.) Pattern Name: Old Colony Year Introduced: 1911 Material: Triple XS - This stands for triple extra silver. It indicates that the piece underwent a process of being electroplated with three layers of silver over a base metal (like a nickel alloy). This thicker plating was meant to enhance durability and provide a longer-lasting finish compared to standard, single-plated items Design: The handle is decorated with a wreath of flowers and a diamond design, often described as having an elegant, early 1900s charm. Collectibility: It is considered one of the most sought-after antique silver-plated patterns today.
