Vintage Kakusa China Occupied Japan "Blue Willow" Berry Bowls Plate Set of Four
Blue Willow
Vintage Kakusa China Occupied Japan Blue Willow Berry Bowls Plate Set of Four Lovely vintage porcelain set by Kakusa China made in Occupied Japan. Made in the iconic Blue Willow pattern. Each piece features a weeping willow tree, a pagoda, a bridge with three figures, a small boat, and flying birds in cobalt blue and white. All four dishes are stamped on the bottom with slightly different stamps. They were made in occupied Japan which means they were made between 1945-1952. Three of the bowls are fruit/berry bowls and the last is a small plate with a shallow dip. Two of the bowls measure 5 across and one measures 4-3/4 across. The larger piece measures 6.5 across. It has some hairline cracks through the glaze but they don't appear to go through the porcelain. One of the pieces has a chip on the underside of the rim. All pieces have some mild crazing on the underside.
