VTG Basket Purse Jamaka for Sanger-Harris 1960s-70s Hand Painted Kids Kitschy
Jamaka By Sanger-Harris
This vintage and collectible Basket Tote/Purse by Jamaka for Sanger-Harris in the 1960s-70s is a charming hand-painted tote bag with a whimsical and colorful design typical of the mod and go-go mid century fashion era. Made of woven wood, fabric quilted lined interior and metal hinges and fasteners, this original vintage piece exudes a playful and casual vibe, perfect for women looking to add a touch of retro flair to their outfits. With its multi-color pattern and unique style, this tote is a true representation of the eclectic fashion trends of the 1960s and continues to be a sought-after collector's item today. Fun Fact: Sanger Harris was the iconic Dallas, Texas based department store active from 1961 to 1987. It is in good preowned vintage estate condition with wear consistent with use and age. There is some distressing and minor paint loss on the bottom corners and on the inside wooden top where there had been a stubborn stain I worked out. Also, the quilted fabric liner has a few loose threads and some staining. A gentle antibac wiping was done inside and out. Please see photos to review its condition to see if it meets your expectations. Bucket tote measures approximately 9” x 9.5” x 5.5.” Wooden hinged handle is approximately a 3” drop.
