Description
A formal kimono (houmongi) with a gorgeous floral pattern on cream-colored fabric. This was worn by my 90-year-old mother in her youth, about 70 years ago. It was re-washed and re-tailored, then stored in a paulownia wood chest for about 30 years. It has not been worn since the re-washing and re-tailoring, so the stains and dullness shown in the photos are likely those that could not be removed by re-washing or those that appeared during storage. Although it has been stored for a long time, it can likely be worn without feeling unclean.
The back view is as gorgeous and cute as the front, so I would be happy if someone who likes antiques could wear it.
