This is a set including a copper-lined hearth box and a wooden hearth surround. It is a heating and cooking facility traditionally used in Japan, where the floor is dug out, ashes are laid, and firewood or charcoal is burned.

If you purchase this together with the adjustable pot hook and cast iron kettle (Nambu Tekki) that I also have listed, you can immediately use it as a stylish hearth and irori (sunken hearth).
